Thought to share a interesting experience that I just went through in looking for a nice looking slider control (say setting incremental values) that fits with the Bootstrap look and feel that I am using (Bootstrap does not provide one out of the box).
First, I thought that there must be some canonical one out there that everyone is using; but looks like there are a number of them and some have been abandoned.
When I did find some (they were not as clean as I would have liked), I looked at their source and they were setup as AngularJS directives but they seem crazy long and hard to follow. Not a big fan on small bits of code into my application that I do not understand; i.e., they better be providing a lot of value before I use it that way.
So, then I thought. "How hard can it be to create an Angular directive for a slider on my own?". Well it turns out that once I found the right tutorial it was not that hard; finding the right tutorial took a while though.
Tutorial: AngularJS Custom Directives.
Result: My Less Crappy AngularJS Slider
Would appreciate any feedback from an AngularJS guru as this was my first attempt at a non-trivial (say validation) directive.
